The team that produced Grassland Fungi: A Field Guide have published their photographs as an organised collection to supplement the book. This is free to access and organised to make it simple to find pictures of the species covered in the Field Guide, and a few extra species too. New pictures will be added as new specimens are found in the field.
The collection is organised with the same structure as the Field Guide, using the online photo application Flickr. To view the collection, click this link:
Grassland Fungi: A Field Guide by Elsa Wood and Jon Dunkelman was first published in 2017 with a second edition issued in 2020. It covers 200 species of fungi, with detailed descriptions of each, and key identification points. There is an overview of the process of identifying fungi in the field, and while technical terms are kept to a minimum, those used are explained in the glossary. The aim of the book is to focus on grasslands, while other identification books cover the vast number of species found in all habitats, affording less space to this rather special set of fungi.
The Field Guide is published by Monmouthshire Meadows Group and all proceeds go to this charity. It can be purchased from the distributors NHBS using this link www.nhbs.com for a retail price of £19.99.
