Many MMG members have fields designated as Local Wildlife Sites (LWSs), and they will have received an invitation to this year’s LWS Landowners’ Morning on Zoom, on Sunday 7th March (10am to 1pm). As usual, Gwent Wildlife Trust have extended the invitation to all MMG members, whether or not LWS landowners, so if you would like to join in please book via the GWT website. There are some interesting speakers this year:
- Liam Olds, Conservation Officer at Buglife on ‘Lowland Grassland Invertebrates’;
- Megan Gimber, Key Habitats Project Officer at People’s Trust for Endangered Species, on ‘Healthy Hedgerows’;
- Gethin Bowes, Invasive Plant Species Officer at Caerphilly Council on how to identify and control invasive species on your land; and
- Mark Barber, Connecting the Dragons Project Officer at ARC on their Connecting the Dragons project
There will also be time to ask questions and chat in (optional) breakout sessions. The morning is organised by Andy Karran, GWT’s LWS officer, who can be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org.
