Our Autumn Get-together: 27 October

Autumn Meadow (Jon Dunkelman)

Our Autumn meeting this year will be at the Centenary Hall in Usk, on Thursday 27th October.  We shall have our usual buffet supper and plenty of time to chat and socialise with fellow meadows enthusiasts.

This year two of our members will be talking about their meadow experiences:

David Sheers is a committee member of the Monmouthshire Branch of the Council for the Protection of Rural Wales.  He and his wife have a small oasis of species-rich pastures and meadows in a sea of intensive agriculture , at Llandewi Rhydderch near Abergavenny.

Malcolm Schuyl is a professional photographer, and a keen moth-trapper.  He and his wife came to live at Maypole near St Maughans three years ago and have a small farm with species-rich pastures, woodland and a stream.

The meeting starts at 7 pm, with supper after the speakers.

The Centenary Hall (also known as the Scout Hut) is in the far corner of the Maryport Street South Car Park, Maryport Street, Usk NP15 1AD (opposite the prison) where there is ample free parking.
