The Friends of Monmouth Cemetery will be holding their annual hay day at 10am on Friday 20th July. Help is needed to rake up the hay over part of the cemetery, which is being managed as a hay meadow. The wild plants in the meadow area are left to grow, flower, and seed during the summer before being cut in July each year. This strategy, which has been in place for the last six years, enables the plants to thrive. Raking off the cuttings is a vital part of the process so any willing volunteers will be very welcome!
