MMG member Marion Stainton is opening her garden in Pontrilas, Herefordshire on Sunday 10th June and Sunday 16th September (part of the NGS Garden Open Days scheme which benefits a range of charities). The garden is open 2 – 5.30pm, entry is £3.50 (children under 16 free)
The part-walled enclosed vegetable garden and greenhouse has power provided by wind & solar energy, to run lighting and pump water from an underground rainwater tank. The orchard, ornamental perennial and shrub borders, wildlife pond, evolving arboretum cum coppice and meadow also have stunning views over the Golden Valley and surrounding area.
Marion is a horticulturalist interested in particular in sustainable, environmentally friendly gardening, and she writes and presents talks on many related topics.
